CHESTNUT HILL

The Homes in Kesseler Crossing are located in Newton, Chestnut Hill, truly one of the nation's most beautiful residential areas and home to many of greater Boston's most prominent citizens. Located 6 miles west of Boston, Chestnut Hill is a wealthy suburb notable for its scenic landscape. It is not a political or municipal entity. Its borders are roughly defined by the 02467 ZIP Code and encompass parts of Boston, Newton, and Brookline Massachusetts. Most of Chestnut Hill remained farmland well into the early twentieth century.

Newton, the Garden City, was recently ranked as the safest city in the country and is designated as one of ten All American Cities. Many names have been given to this attractive area bordered on three sides by the Charles River. Settled in 1630 and called Cambridge Village in the 1640's, this settlement was officially designated Newtowne when the General Court (state legislature) granted it a town charter in 1688. The name later was shortened to Newton and in 1873, the community was granted a city charter.

Today, Newton is a vibrant and remarkably diverse community of nearly 83,000 people. Newton is considered one of the best-managed communities in the state with a nationally acclaimed school system. Thirteen villages comprise this highly desirable city, which features good local government, excellent schools, and wonderful outdoor recreation.

Points of interest in Chestnut Hill and environs include The Atrium Mall and The Mall at Chestnut Hill, both luxury shopping centers, Beaver Country Day School, a private middle and high school, Brimmer and May School, a private elementary and high school, and The Chestnut Hill School, a private elementary school. The nearby Hammond Pond is an extensive forest preserve. Kesseler Crossing abuts an extensive network of conservation parcels. The "D" branch of the MBTA's Green Line is nearby and the area is minutes to the areas many renowned hospitals and universities.
